Wes thattuwa - Face Mask Devil Dance

This is Called as Wes Muhuha/ Wes Tattuwa normally this Face mask is use by the Gurunnanse (one of Head Dancer of the Dancing Group) for to act the character of devil dance. 
They use Face Mask when they performing the devil dance Normally there are lot of devils in devil dances. Gara yaka (Gara Devil), Oddi Massina (Oddi Brother in low), Mahasona ( A devil which has a head of a bear), Salupaliya (A devil dance by using a cloth) this is for Pattini Deviya ( A Powerful Female Goad).  the Gurunnanse who performs the salupaliya dance wish the happiness and the prosperity to the all at the end of the dance. 


Kawadi Dance

This is a dancing equipment which is using for a Perahara ( A social event of collection of Dances which is perform in road by dances)  normally this dance Is called as Kawadi Dance. The dancer keep this dancing Material in the shoulders and make the dance further, this is a group dance and very attractive when dancing the group.

The places like Kataragama we can see this dance every day to respect the Kataragama Goad.    

Vesak Pandal -Visit Srilanka

Thuparamaya is a great dagoda in srilanka. after arrival of the Mahinda Thera (Indian King Asokas Son) lot of social and cultural changes will take in place in the srilankan life style becouse with the Mahinda Thera, an envoy sent by king Asoka himself introduced theravada Buddhism and chetiya worship to srilanka as well. 

is has been built in the shape of a style of heap paddy (Dhanyakara Style) the dhagaba is constructed on 1862 AD. several   times this dagaba was destroyed by enemies and several renovation has been made time to time by several kings.

Karattaya - Bull cart - Visit Srilanka


Bull Cart (Karatta) was the Main Vehicle in ancient Srilanka. mainly it used to  travel People and goods. even today it self we can rarely see this Bull carts in Srilanka.

Haggala Botanical Garden

The Haggala botanical garden is established in 1861 for the purpose of cincona cultivation in Srilanka by British governors. it is about 28 hectares in extent and most local and foreign visitors love to this place since the garden has very colorful and nice plants and flowers. and the climate around the garden is very cool and fresh.  

the temperature range around the haggala Garden is 3 centigrade to 15 while the rain foll from too monsoons this helps to grow the  nice roses and orkids 

Gangarama Temple - Srilanka

King Parakramabahu


This is a stone statue of King Parakramabahu who ruled srilanka (from 1164 to 1196 AD) the theme of his 
life was "Not one drop of water must flow into the ocean without serving the purpose of man " he ruled srilanka 33 years according to Mahawansa   he build or restored 165 dams , 3910 canals, 163 major reservoirs and 3276 minor tanks. during his period he restored three great dagobas at Anuradhapura (The capital city of his kingdom further one of his grate construction was Parakrama Samudraya

Ridi Viharaya (Silver Rock Temple)


Ridi Viharaya is located at (Ridi Gama) Kurunagala district the term Ridi Gama means Silver village. this vihara is original build under the gidence of King Dutugamunu who role the country from 161 BC  to 137 BC.  

As per the mahawansa (A great srilankan historical Record ) king dutugamunu received some valuable silver from this village and the revenue from this silver, make used to build up the "Ruwan wali Maha saya"

in return of this he honored to this vilage by building the Ridi Viharaya further, under the gidence of king keerthi sri rajasingha ridi viharaya went on a major revival process and build up the upper temple.
