The master builder of sigiriya is king Kasyapa. further, he is named as sigiri kasyapa. he is the one of son of king Dathusana ( A Grate king in Anuradhapura). Kashyapa killed his father and become the next king of Srilanka but he knew that one day his brother will against him. because Mugalan (brother) is the most suitable person for the next king. there fore he build his kingdom on the top of sigiriya mountain for security purposes.
mainly this paintings are made on the mountain Wall. before they draw this painting they have used a cement and color washed the wall ( some are called it is a done by using some herbals ) if you visit srilanka you can see lot of nice painting in the sigiri rock wall. in addition to that the person who visited to the sigiriya has wrote poems about the paintings those are called as sigiri "Kurutu Gee"
